A "New" Year Resolution

As we all very well know, 2020 has been a challenging and difficult year. It has tested each and every single one of us in so many ways. We have had loved ones affected by this unexpected pandemic. Many of us have received pay cuts or have lost our jobs altogether. Many businesses closed their doors permanently. In a world so accustomed to gatherings and embraces, isolation has been stowed upon us against our own will. The world as we knew it completely shifted from its axis and we were in no way prepared emotionally for the aftermath.

This year has also shown us how strong we truly are. How we can overcome adversity. It's been a year that has shown us to be grateful and not to dwell in the things we do not have. To count and acknowledge our blessings each and every single day. It has also brought most of us to the outdoors so that we can appreciate what nature has to bring.

As we slowly move into the new year, many of us will set goals and resolutions for 2021. What better way to bring back positivity and hope for a better, brighter year, right? So as many of us will include a new diet or an exercise regimen in their New Year's Resolution, or maybe look into a new career, building a new relationship or maybe even getting out of one, I am working on a different resolution this coming year. One that I hope brings inner peace as well as good health in my direction.

It's not a large list of goals. It's simple so here it goes:

I want to be more present and in the moment moving forward;

Accept my body and health for what it is and embrace the good days that are given to me;

See the positive in difficult situations and continue to learn/grow;

Breathe... just breathe;

And most of all, learn to let things be even if it goes against what my heart truly wants because it's the right thing to do.

So let's raise our glasses, say goodbye to 2020 and welcome 2021 with a positive attitude.

Wishing you all a Happy New Year! 2021... here we come!
